You can think of refrigerated trailer rentals almost like a limousine service for your perishable items. In a limo, you get VIP treatment and stylish travel. In an ice truck rental, luxury and style are replaced with plenty of room, accessible storage, and a temperature-controlled environment. These features keep your cargo cool and protected from outdoor elements like rain, sleet, and snow, so you can make sure your items arrive on time when you need them.

Cooling and freezing take place reliably with an integrated GOVI Arktik 2000US series refrigeration unit. These compact units provide a temperature range of 0 to 50 degrees F, are all-electric, and only require 110V and 15 amps. Since our coolers have the capability of maintaining temps both below and above 32 degrees Fahrenheit, our ice truck rentals double as both freezers and coolers. This handy feature makes them a more convenient and robust tool for your personal or business needs versus other mobile cooler rentals in Hanahan, SC.
Generally speaking, refrigerated trailers aren't meant to cool down or freeze the items stored within them. Instead, they're meant to keep products at a specific temperature for a certain amount of time. At Charleston Refrigerators Trailers, our team members use Polar King Mobile trailers. We made the choice to use this brand for a reason: These ice trucks both meet and exceed all compliance guidelines set forth by the NATM or National Association of Trailer Manufacturers.
Our refrigerated trailers for rent utilize three major components:
Refrigeration units can run in cycles or continuously. Running the refrigeration unit in cycles reduces fuel consumption but creates more temperature variation. Frozen foods are less sensitive to temperature changes and can endure these variations. Continuous cooling is better suited for products and goods that are not able to withstand temperature variations well. At Charleston Refrigerators Trailers, our mobile rental options utilize continuous cooling to ensure your items don't suffer from temperature variations.
For business owners, managing funds and staying on top of costs is a crucial part of owning a profitable company. Purchasing and maintaining a fleet of refrigerated trailers can be a significant financial burden, requiring substantial capital investment and ongoing maintenance costs. However, renting refrigerated trucks can help businesses allocate their funds more wisely.
That's especially true for businesses that do not frequently engage in long-distance refrigerated shipping. Why purchase an entire vehicle and refrigeration system when you need the trailer for more minor tasks, like delivering flowers on Valentine's Day or storing products after an unexpected power outage? If you have a specific product line or a limited-time special, it's more practical to go with a refrigerated truck for rent than to purchase an ice truck outright.
In terms of the additional benefits of refrigerated trailer rentals, there's no shortage of them to highlight:
Looking for a spot to practice towing and trailering? Practicing these maneuvers in an empty parking lot is an excellent idea. It's always better to learn the movements of your trailer in empty spaces, so you can avoid any mishaps like trying to back up and park in front of a busy store.

HANAHAN, S.C. (WCSC) - The City of Hanahan is moving forward with a project that will enhance stormwater management in its downtown area.
The downtown stormwater improvement project will start at the intersection of Loftis Road and Yeamans Hall Road, continuing along Yeamans Hall Road to its intersection with Sledge Street.
The Mayor of Hanahan, Christie Rainwater, says this initiative is part of a bigger plan to revitalize the downtown area.
“An opportunity with grant funding, American Rescue Plan Act, there have been a lot of partners with this specific project, and we are able to complete the streetscape project, and I love it because it’s just going to be literally helping over 20 structures with flooding. It’s going to look better for the community. There are so many benefits to it for the community from all different angles that they’re going to get to enjoy,” Rainwater says.
This project in total costs $2.4 million, with $54,000 provided by the city and the remaining funds coming from the American Rescue Plan Act’s State Local Fiscal Recovery Fund.
Transportation engineer at Stantec Consulting, Justin Tye, says the project will feature upgraded infrastructure, including larger pipes, new curbing, sidewalks, vegetation, and a resurfaced Yeamans Hall Road.
Tye says the improvements will help stormwater flow much quicker out of the downtown area.
“After completion of this project, it will have a positive impact to the downtown area by improving emergency vehicle access, improving the businesses for potential new investment, and also the transportation for the citizens here in Hanahan,” Tye says.
Rainwater says there could be some potential traffic impacts while construction is going on.
“You may need to be rerouted, or there might be a flag getting you from here to there. I would suggest being patient or maybe even consider an alternate route just during the time of construction, and in the end, it’s going to be worth it,” Rainwater says.
Project leaders say the South Carolina Office of Resilience is currently reviewing submitted bids and will select a contractor once that process is complete. They expect construction to start within the next month or two.
Rainwater says that the project must be complete by 2026 due to guidelines with ARPA funding, but that they anticipate it to be done before then.
